This Thanksgiving the Gallaher came up to visit! On Thursday we went to Maw Maw and Paw Paw's for lunch and then to Uncle J.D.'s and Carolyn's for dinner - needless to say, we ate well.
On Friday our family decided to start the day off bowling. Ryan attempted to do the whole "swing your leg out from under you and curve the ball like the pros do" maneuver. He did fairly well at it. It was quite funny to watch. My back started hurting by the 6th frame, so my method was bit more rudementary...I just swung back my 8-lb ball and released it at waist-height, all without bending my back. The loud noise drew some attention. Since that evening, many awards have been given: the "Most Spirited" award went to Suzanne and the "Most Improved" award went to Amy. Paw Paw had not bowled in 30 years...let's just say he'd rather be swinging a golf club...so he got the "Participation" award. Dr. Rob gets "Coach of the Year" as expected. Other awards T.B.A.
That night, we went to see "The Christmas Carol" - a good holiday flick, just a bit scary. We concluded our Friday night eating a Famous Daves - a family favorite.
